Youth Videograhy Training
A creative journey where young storytellers
learn to capture the heart of their communities
on video

Why This Matters

Impactful content created by youth for youth

Proportion Global trains and coaches youth videographers to professionally capture stories from within partner’s programs ,  using their own smartphones.

These young storytellers document progress, share community insights, and amplify peer voices through authentic, high-quality videos.

For our partners, this offers richer donor reporting, stronger community engagement, and impactful content created by youth, for youth, as part of youth-centred interventions.

From phone to videos

We have a proven 7-module curriculum delivered by award-winning young filmmakers.

Training is hands-on and naturally transits into coaching on video production for a project.

Youth recruitment process:

we select the most talented youth who already have a smartphone.

1. Articulate Call

We customise our ‘call for youth videographers’ template to align with UNICEF’s scope.

We select online channels and identify pre-existing youth groups.

We distribute the call through pre-existing groups and targeted ad campaigns.

Applicants need to submit a video application as per call, via an online application form.

Applicants need to have a smartphone with certain specs.

We assess applications and select the most talented youth for the upcoming cohorts for training and coaching.

Cohort: 8-12 pax

Each trainee will create an account on the social learning platform and each cohort will have an onboarding call to meet instructors and peers.
